TORRE PACHECO .- The People's Party Caucus of Torre Pacheco has been appointed as head of list this political party for the municipal elections to be held next May 22, Daniel García Madrid, current mayor and general secretary of the PP in the municipality.
This appointment has been endorsed unanimously by the local board of the Party, during a meeting late today and will be elevated to the Regional Election Committee for final approval
García Madrid was born in Dolores de Pacheco in 1970, holds a degree in Law from the University of Murcia, is married and father of three children, sources of this political in a statement.
He began his political career in the city of Torre Pacheco in 1995, as a councilman and spokesman for the Popular Party. From that date until now, has been re-elected in all elections at local level.
In 2003 headed the nomination of this party, obtaining an absolute majority and occupying the office of mayor, a position he repeated in the municipal elections of 2007, elections in which the People's Party increased its majority.
be recalled that in March 2008, Garcia Madrid was arrested and remained in prison as part of "Operation Camelot", which also affected the Consistory of Fuente Alamo, also of the PP, and the investigation of the alleged commission of crimes of negotiations and activities prohibited to public officials, embezzlement of public funds, influence peddling, bribery, prevarication, fraud and disclosure of secrets.
